Legendary Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata.

Satoru Iwata, Late CEO of Nintendo

Born in December 6th 1959 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan died last Saturday 11th July 2015 while holding position as the CEO of Nintendo.

He showed keen interest in creation of the video games from his early age and began to produce game at his home during his high school years. He used to make video games consisting of simple using his calculator which he shared with his friend.

He did his major in computer science in Tokyo institute of technology at the same time he worked part time for HAL laboratory Inc. A game partner that often collaborated with Nintendo. After graduating from the university he joined HAL laboratory Inc as a full time employee. He made his way to company's coordinator of software production in 1993. He also assisted in founding of Creatures Inc established in 1995.

He started working with Nintendo even before he was an official employee. In 2000 he joined Nintendo as the head of corporate planning division after that in 2002 he became president of the company. He was the first person not related Yamauchi family through blood or marriage. at the time he promoted as president in Nintendo the company was not doing good.

Through years he lead the company and pushed Nintendo's development team for development and ranked as 30 Top CEOs worldwide from 2007 to 2009 in Barron's.

In the last E3 conference in 2014 Mr.Iwata did not not took part because of his medical conditions. In July 12 Nintendo announced the death of its CEO due to bile duct cancer. He survived by his wife Kayoko. Funeral services are planned to be held on 17th July.
